Tai Hirion

  Home Wood
Home wood is a tall spruce filled wood that surrounds the shoot lodge. The Birds are driven over the guns which are standing in the field outside the shoot lodge.
Basin The Basin
The Basin is a drive surrounded by both Broad Leaf and Spruce.The birds are driven back to the pen over the guns which are halfway down the steep field. The Basin produces some high testing birds.
Basin Basin Banc
Basin Banc is at the end of the Basin, depending on the wind and the sun we would shoot The Basin or Basin Banc, with the guns standing with their back to "Tims Garden" the birds arrive clearing the tall trees that sit on "Basin banc". Basin Banc also produces high testing birds.
Top Field Top Field
Top field is a small drive.The birds are driven from the Top Field over the Connifers to the Guns standing on the field below.
Top Field Pond Wood
Pond Wood looks incredibly normal to the new gun, however with the correct strain of Pheasant the birds climb high quickly, taking alot of guns by surprise.
  Boundary Wood
Boundary Wood is normally shot on Outside Days or Woodcock Days and sits just behind pond wood.
  Tim's Garden
Tim's Garden is a small drive used on Outside Days and Walked up Days.
 

Hendre

  Ashcroft's Bottom
Ashcroft's Bottom sits at the end of the Old Rectory's Garden, the Owners of the Old Rectory "The Ashcrofts" are regulars on the shoot.
  The Mad Cow
The Mad Cow is a long bank of gorse which sits high up above the field where the guns are standing.
  Hendre Top
Hendre Top sits proud at the top of Hendre, it is used for Outside Days.
  Hendre Wood
HendreWood has recently been harvested and replanted and is currently used for Outside Days and Woodcock Days.
 

Nant

Upper Mathan Upper Mathan
Upper Mathan is an historic drive and created good driven and crossing birds.
Lower Mathan Lower Mathan
Lower Mathan like Upper Mathan is a renowened drive and normally shot late in the season.
  Max's Banc
Max's Banc is named after a nice chap called Max who once lived above the banc.
Max View Max's View
Max view sits just the other side of the steep valley to Max's Banc.
 

Tyddyn Cae

Long Wood Long Wood
Long Wood is an historic woodland, tall oaks and mixed broad leaves make the wood. The Stand is on the lovely Llyn pasture overlooking Cardigan Bay and St Tudwal's Islands.
  Farm Scrub
Farm Scrub is a small drive used on Outside Days.
 

Little Coppice
Little Coppice is a small drive used on outside Days.


Top Field Water Mill / Felin
Water Mill or Felin as it's known in Welsh is a lovely, picturesque drive that dates back to 1830.The birds are driven over the thick wooded bank and over the guns, which are stood below by the trout stream. This drive produces some testing crosses as well as high driven birds.
Top Field Maggies
Maggies is a small drive that produces testing birds, named after Maggie who lives in the Old Smithy adjacent to the drive.
Top Field Japanese Garden
Japanese Gardens were planted pre-war and hosts a great drive adjacent to Plas Bodfuan, the country house that the shoot surrounds.
Top Field The Donkey
The Donkey, we believe is named after "The Donkey" that onced lived next to the drive, it produces very high birds when the wind is in the South West and is one of Jono's favourites.
  Four Square
Four Square is a main drive producing good sporting birds, the drive has a lovely view of the Japanese Gardens.
 

The Parc

Scotsmans Scotsman's
Scotsman's or Tan Y Craig as it's sometimes known locally produces some high birds off the steep cover filled bank, the guns are stood below in the Parc Land.
Parc Wood Parc Wood
Parc Wood sits opposite Scotsman's and hosts good sporting birds, the view of the Parc Land is best from this drive.
  Nettle Wood
Nettle wood is a small drive in the middle of the parc used on Outside Days
Horseshoe Horseshoe
Horseshoe is a drive we are restoring with replanting and fencing, it was once a flagship drive.
Upper Lodge Garden Upper Lodge Garden
Upper Lodge Garden is a main drive in the Parc normally shot Christmas onwards it is filled with broad leaf and rhododendrons and produces high birds.
Top Stream Top Stream
Top Stream is to the north of Upper Lodge and produces a mixture of testing birds.
Bottom Stream Bottom Stream
Bottom Stream is to the south of Upper Lodge, the guns are stood in the Parc Land.
The Bathing House The Bathing House
The Bathing House known locally has Farrow Wen is set on a steep bank within the Japanese Gardens, guns 4 to 7 are snap shooting in the rhododendrons. The Bathing House which is a spa filled house is where the servants from the Plas washed.
